SUPERSITO Project

CINSA is collaborating with the Regional Environmental Prevention and Energy Agency of Emilia-Romagna (ARPAE) in the realisation of the project ‘SUPERSITO: realisation of an integrated study of atmospheric pollution in the Emilia-Romagna region through the measurement of chemical, physical and toxicological parameters and health, epidemiological and environmental assessments by means of interpretative models’.

The SUPERSITO project, implemented by the Emilia-Romagna Region and ARPAE, with the collaboration of CNR-ISAC and other national and international institutions, aims to improve knowledge of the environmental and health aspects of fine (PM2.5 and PM1) and ultrafine (lower than PM0.1) particulate matter in the atmosphere, both inside homes (indoor environment) and outside (outdoor).

Within the framework of the project, CINSA collaborates in the epidemiological research lines by providing support for bibliographic research and the collection of scientific documentation, evaluation of the state of the art concerning epidemiological investigations on the effects of atmospheric particulate matter, collaboration in the evaluation of effects, construction of a geodatabase of environmental and demographic data, spatial analysis and GIS processing, and statistical analysis of environmental data.
